The new ProtoStax-AG Enclosure for Arduino Giga Display makes it super duper easy for you to have a truly seamless experience in creating professional looking solutions with the new Arduino Giga Display, with its new modular, extensible and stackable enclosure solution for the Arduino Giga Display!

The Arduino GIGA Display Shield lets you effortlessly deploy graphic interfaces to your Arduino GIGA R1 WiFi projects with their innovative touch screen solution, which includes a digital microphone, 6-axis IMU, and Arducam® connector, enabling seamless creation of handheld devices or dashboards. With ProtoStax, the process of getting to a usable and attractive device is greatly simplified.

This is a custom enclosure using ProtoStax Technology, specifically tailored to the Arduino Giga R1 WiFi and Arduino Giga Display Shield combination. It is stackable, modular, extensible and hackable! Note however that ProtoStax-AG enclosures are not compatible with ProtoStax (standard) enclosures.

Now you have a professional touch-screen friendly enclosure with optional camera cutout (if you're not using the camera and want an enclosure without the camera cutout, you now have an option) and optional tripod mount (use the tripod mount with or without camera cutout to have a mounting solution for your project).

The case has an internal clearance of over 1.2 inches, which gives you ample room to install an extra shield (or two) of your choice to build out your solution.

With ProtoStax-AG, you have a sturdy, easy to assemble and easy to use enclosure solution for your Arduino Giga based project for a professional looking solution, whether it is proof-of-concept, or an end solution you can actually deploy and use! Stat!

Features

  • Designed to fit an Arduino Giga Display Shield on top with the Arduino Giga R1 WiFi plugged in below.
  • Internal clearance of over 1.2 inches, which gives you ample room for a shield or two
  • Made from high quality cast acrylic
  • Clear acrylic provides a beautiful finish with a modern visual design with full view of your electronics
  • Our Obsidian black acrylic gives you a sleek and attractive option when you want to keep your brains and sinew under the covers and just highlight the peripherals
  • Metal standoffs and screws provide solid and durable support
  • Rubber Feet protect your table surface while providing maximum airflow by elevating the enclosure
  • Cutouts leave USB and power ports accessible.
  • Cutouts on the top plate for the microphone and optionally the camera
  • Cable Management: Easily accessible cable management cutouts in the side walls allow you to smoothly insert your cables and access wiring to external systems. If you want to hook up an external camera (say if it is facing a different orientation than the front facing camera cutout), the cable management slots allow you to plug in the external camera easily.
  • You can mix, match, customize, and expand your project enclosure because ProtoStax-AG enclosures are modular and stackable and work with each other. (Not compatible with ProtoStax (standard) enclosures)
  • Optional tripod mount piece makes the entire enclosure tripod mountable - whether or not you have a camera. Since the tripod mount hole a standard #1/4-20 thread, you can use that to mount to other locations too, not just a tripod.

Not high enough for Arduino Education Shield

Basically I like the enclosure. The overall quality is good and it is simple to assemble. However, I use an "Arduino Education Shield" on top of my Arduino Giga and this will not fit entirely. I had hoped that your claim "which gives you ample room to install an extra shield (or two) of your choice" would cover that configuration.

Easy to figure out how to assemble as the online (only) instructions did not address this model specifically. Not sure how to route the I/O ports out of the enclosure, looking now for 90 degree ribbon wire connectors.

Thank you for the review! 🙏 Are you referring to routing the camera ? The enclosure has cable management slots on three of the side walls that will allow you to slide cables/ribbon cables through easily during assembly. For the camera, it may be better to get regular (vs. 90 degree) ribbon cable (it will have more room within the enclosure) and then slide the ribbon cable through to the outside through the cable management slot. The documentation in the User Manual and Quick Start guides talks about cable management in a separate section. Hope that helps, and please feel free to write to us directly if you have any questions or would like to discuss possible solutions.
